Inspection Testing
Dimensional and Visual Inspection
Inspection to ISO 5022 or to User Specification is undertaken with experienced inspectors
This ensures good constructability before materials leave the manufacturers works
This is always provided for project work where downtime is critical and may be offered for routine supply
Witness Testing
Technicians familiar with all refractory tests witness each stage of physical testing undertaken in the manufacturers' works to ensure that test results are representative and reliable
This is provided on a routine basis and for project work where required
External Testing
Eagle Refractories can arrange testing at recognised laboratories where testing which is fully independent of the manufacturer is required.
Testing can be arranged in country of origin, at end user laboratory or at globally recognised laboratories as required.
Quality Dossier
Eagle will prepare a complete quality dossier, giving all inspection, testing and packing information to ensure complete traceability in a single document.
Sales and Supply
Between our offices in the UK and China our staff have over 30 years experience in selecting products from quality Chinese suppliers which are fit for purpose.
Following order placement our staff will inspect material before release for shipment to ensure the material is visually and dimensionally correct, normally based on ISO 5022. We can also arrange physical and chemical testing in laboratories which are independent of the manufacturer.
We will also prepare packing specifications, labels and packing lists to your agreed specification.
The provision of these services allows our customers to purchase refractory materials in China with confidence that any sub-standard material will not be delivered to their site.
We have experience in supplying a wide range of materials including, High and Low Alumina, Insulating Fire Brick IFB, Silica, Silicon Carbide, Magnesia Carbon, Fired Magnesite, Magnesia Chrome, Alumina Magnesia Carbon.
Supplier Audit
Quality
Eagle Refractories will undertake a thorough audit of supplier quality system. This audit looks at the operation of the quality system and its ability to provide suitable control of the production.
The audit procedures applied go far beyond a review of records and look at equipment operation and capability
The audit ensures that producers are providing suitable control to produce consistent product
Capacity and Capability
The audit procedures consider plant capability and capacity to confirm that potential suppliers can produce the required product in time using their current process equipment.
This is aimed at ensuring that material deliveries will be on time and at the right quality.
Benchmarking
Eagle Refractories will benchmark suppliers against global leaders.
Order Progression
Having accepted an order our staff will monitor and report on a regular basis through the manufacturing process to keep you, the customer, fully appraised of the order progression, from mould manufacture to order despatch.
Notification will be at a frequency as agreed with you, and on larger projects, phased delivery can also be provided to ensure the material you have ordered arrives on time.
Any delays that are occurring will be highlighted as soon as they occur to ensure you are in the know and not suddenly surprised to learn that an order is late.
Refractory Materials are not covered by standards and so errors in material specification can have severe consequences such as poor performance and process contamination.
This can lead to increased costs and reduced availability. In extreme cases, material failure can lead to loss of containment and safety issues.
Eagle Refractories have extensive experience in specifying refractories for many industries to ensure that appropriate materials are supplied.
This involves a knowledge of refractory production processes and materials and refractory service conditions.
Material specifications should identify suitable production control tests and also tests which give an indication of service performance.
Eagle Refractories can undertake a range of design services to meet customer requirements.
Design Review
A review of existing designs, for reliability, constructability and thermal condition or other aspects of concern. This provides an independent review of the design and considers all aspects of the design.
Design Brief/Basic Design
Provides an outline of the design requirement, such as material type and thickness, where detail design will be provided by others. This allows budgets to be developed and vendors to be selected.
Full Design Service
This provides a complete design package including all necessary design documents:
- Arrangement Drawings
- Bill of Material
- Material Specification
- Installation Manual
- Dry-out and Heat-up curves
These can be used to purchase materials and installation services.
Installation Supervision
Eagle Refractories can provide qualified refractory supervision services on a global basis. These can ensure correct installation standards are achieved.
